Overview
AutoScreenShield is designed with privacy as its core principle. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any user data whatsoever.
Data Collection
AutoScreenShield collects no data. Specifically:
- No personal information is collected
- No browsing history is tracked
- No analytics or telemetry data is gathered
- No cookies are used
- No user accounts are required
Local Processing
All functionality of AutoScreenShield operates entirely within your browser:
- Screen sharing detection runs locally using browser APIs
- Tab masking is performed client-side
- Your blocklist configuration is stored in Chrome's local storage on your device only
- No data ever leaves your browser
No External Communication
AutoScreenShield makes zero network requests. The extension:
- Does not connect to any external servers
- Does not send any data to third parties
- Does not include any third-party tracking scripts
- Works completely offline after installation
Permissions
The extension requests only the minimum permissions necessary to function:
- tabs — To detect and mask tabs during screen sharing
- storage — To save your blocklist preferences locally
Changes
If we ever change this policy, we will update this page. Given that we collect no data, significant changes are unlikely.
